Google Chrome is a free browser available for various platforms. It offers a rich feature palette and rapid responsiveness, as well as G-suite integration. It all makes it one of the best browsers for business and study.
Google Chrome is pretty plain and straightforward. As you launch it, there’s a clean start page, which you can customize to your taste or needs. Under the colored logo we have the search bar with the voice assistant integrated.
In the right top corner you’ll find a feature cluster with the browser’s plugins, your G-account, and a hamburger menu where you can access various services and platforms. Below there’s a Settings panel where you can tweak Chrome’s performance.
Google Chrome allows accessing a whole stack of services in a flick. It includes YouTube, Google Drive, Gmail, Hangouts, Classroom, Google Arts & Culture and more. Its default search engine is Google and there’s no option to change it.
From the Plugins Store you can get some useful browser extensions. They can generate QR codes, capture your screen, convert videos, hide the IP address, tell you about whether or stock market prices, and highlight text pieces.
There’s an I’m Feeling Lucky button that makes a random search request for you. With it, you can learn why they celebrate the Tomatina festival, when it’s the Parents Day in South Korea, etc. Each bit of info is illustrated with a little doodle.
To use its full potential, you will need a Google account. Easy access to the likes of Google Drive or Sheets makes this browser an indispensable office tool. So do its numerous free extensions.
Sadly, Chrome doesn’t provide extra security like Firefox or a built-in VPN like Opera. Some of these issues can be solved with Chrome plugins though.
On Android, Google Chrome is a default browser. It’s also available on every major platform in existence, including iOS. Blackberry and Linux also support its compatibility.
Its size is pretty humble, at around 70 MB for mobile. But you need to clean its cache regularly, so it doesn’t devour the disk space slowly like a hermit crab over the time.
Google Chrome isn’t the worst browser to use. It can’t provide full anonymity or extra safety measures. At the same time, it’s a great browser to use when you need to have college research or a work project done as its tool array is impressive.
